An impromptu game of rugby with youngsters attending Biggar Rugby Club’s Summer Camp awaited Clydesdale’s MSP Aileen Campbell when she paid them a visit.

The Club’s Development Officer, Callum Taylor, is holding sessions for school age children through to 2 August which attracts kids from across Clydesdale and beyond. It provides the budding young rugby players with the opportunity to experience rugby, get coaching and have a lot of fun.

After the session, Aileen said:

"I loved having the chance to join in with the kids’ session - summer camps are an ideal way to expose your child to the fantastic game of rugby.

"Today, it was great to see the children, both girls and boys, developing core skills and building their confidence under the expert tuition of Callum and his team.

"This programme is also a chance to make new friends, learn more about rugby values such as team work, commitment and integrity, and also become more aware of the importance of physical fitness. Most of all lots of fun is guaranteed! Next time, I’ll bring my trainers!"
