Aileen Campbell MSP attended the Lowther Ski Club’s open day where the club’s plans and ambitions were showcased.

The plans include further developing the ski tow and installing snow fences and a club house.

The group have worked hard to develop the slope and this season have had 20 skiing days.

Commenting Aileen said:

"I want to congratulate Anjo and the team for the phenomenal amount of work they have put in to developing the ski slope. It’s been incredible that, even in inclement weather, they have managed to achieve so much.

"I was really privileged to be able to go and see their work and to appreciate the outstanding views from the Lowther Hills - when these ambitious plans are finished, there will be no need to travel to the Alps to ski when this is on our doorstep!

"This project is a shining example of community empowerment in action and I will do all I can to promote the ski club’s work and to support their future efforts."
