The SNP MSP for Clydesdale, Aileen Campbell, has launched her annual Christmas Card competition for 2014. Primary Seven pupils from across Clydesdale have been invited to take part after Aileen wrote to Head teachers across the constituency today.

Pupils have been asked to design a Christmas card, which Aileen will distribute electronically to spread her Christmas wishes, around the theme of their favourite Christmas Dinner or Christmas food - as we approach Scotland’s year of Food & Drink in 2015.

The winning entry will be used as an e-card and the savings made from not printing or posting a traditional card will be donated to a local charity. The competition closes on Wednesday 5th November and is open to all Primary Sevens in Clydesdale.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell MSP said:

"It’s great to be able to launch this competition again - it’s always a fun day judging the entries so I’m looking forward to seeing what this year’s Primary Sevens will design.

"With 2015 being Scotland’s year of Food and Drink, I could think of nothing better than Christmas Dinner and food for the theme - and given we live in an area with an abundance of high quality local produce, it will be a good way to celebrate Clydesdale’s larder. It’s nice for the kids to be part of the competition because not only is the winner used as my official Christmas Card, but also because of the benefit to charity."
