Aileen Campbell, the SNP MSP for Clydesdale has welcomed the action from South Lanarkshire Council regarding missing polling cards for Thursday's Referendum.

After reports from constituents in Strathaven, Aileen Campbell MSP wrote to the Deputy Returning Officer responsible for these matters in South Lanarkshire.

The Deputy Returning Officer, Aileen Knudsen, has confirmed that a full investigation has gone in to the missing polling cards, and that an information card will be delivered to all affected areas to advise of polling times and locations.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell MSP said:

"I am pleased South Lanarkshire Council have now acted to make sure that voters in this referendum have the information to vote. Never before have we had the level of voter registration as we have had for this referendum and this will go some way to provide reassurance to my constituents who were anxious about not receiving their polling cards. This important and historic vote will determine Scotland's future and so it is right the council investigate this matter and I look forward to the outcome."
