The SNP MSP for Clydesdale, Aileen Campbell, has welcomed the announcement from Nicola Sturgeon, Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure who has announced the new Water Charges Exemption Scheme for the period 2015-21.

The news will also be welcomed by charities and Community Sports Clubs in Clydesdale with annual incomes of less than ?200,000 who will be fully exempt from the payment of water and sewerage charges.

Commenting on the news, Aileen Campbell said:

"This is great news for charities and community sports clubs in Clydesdale who won’t have to worry about the payment of water charges. The Scottish Government has been committed to extending this scheme to benefit more charities and sports clubs, and this new Exemption Scheme shows that the Government recognises the significant contribution that charities make to Scotland’s well-being and prosperity. I’m sure this will be welcome news across the Constituency."
