The SNP MSP for Clydesdale, Aileen Campbell, has welcomed the publication of a new Scottish Social Attitudes Survey showing an increase in support for independence.

Commenting on the new survey, Aileen Campbell MSP said:

"It is great news that the new Scottish Social Attitudes Survey has shown a 6% increase in support for Independence. This is extremely encouraging news, and the momentum is clearly on our side as we deliver the positive message of what Independence really means for Scotland.

"The idea, peddled by so many of the Better Together politicians, that Scotland gets a great deal from the union was squashed in this latest survey, with only 20% believing that Scotland’s economy benefits more from the Union. Scotland’s Future, the White Paper for Independence, shows how Scotland’s economy can truly benefit from full powers so that we can put our country on a path to success.

"There is still much work to be done, and it is good news for the Yes Campaign that many are still open to be convinced. We will continue to spread the positive message of growth and prosperity which will win the arguments while we wait on answers from anti-independence politicians to come up with the case for the Union."
