Aileen Campbell, MSP for Clydesdale has expressed her support for shopping locally this Christmas.

Clydesdale is set for a busy festive season after late night shopping events called the start of Christmas opening hours last weekend.

Commenting, Aileen said:

"With a wide range of retail outlets, Clydesdale has a lot to offer to shoppers this Christmas. The ever successful late night shopping in Biggar and the Festive taste of Lanark amongst other initiatives displayed the potential areas across Clydesdale have to provide shoppers with exactly what they need.

"The social benefits of shopping locally are significant - not only can you save time and stress from travelling into a bigger city but the overall experience is very positive. It’s healthy to see successful businesses in Clydesdale’s high streets, and I am extremely proud to support them.

"One-of-a kind products bought locally for others are a gift for Clydesdale. The area can reap the economic benefits of vibrant high streets and town centres this festive season and the respectable names of Clydesdale products and businesses can be spread across Scotland this Christmas through local purchasing and gift-giving.

"Christmas is all about family, friends and community so let’s put people at the heart of our high streets this year and shop locally."
