Clydesdale MSP, Aileen Campbell is encouraging local groups in Clydesdale to apply to the People’s Millions for the chance to receive up to ?50,000 of funding for their project.

The People’s Millions programme is a partnership between the Big Lottery Fund and ITV, and this year 76 projects will receive up to ?50,000 to inspire, involve and improve their local community.

The successful projects are not chosen by committee or by a board, but the general public. Projects from across the UK will battle it out for the public vote when the programme will be broadcast on ITV in late November.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell said:

"I am encouraging voluntary and community groups, schools or other local organisations to apply to the People’s Millions and give themselves a chance to receive up to ?50,000 of funding for their project.

"The People’s Millions are looking for projects which give people the opportunity to enjoy their local area, improve the community and get people involved.

"We have plenty of projects in Clydesdale who do just that and I hope to see some finalists from the local area on ITV in November trying to win the public vote!

"The deadline for applications is 13 May 2013 and more information on how you can apply can be found by calling 0845 0 10 11 12 or at"
