Clydesdale MSP, Aileen Campbell has expressed her delight that four Clydesdale groups have received an early Christmas present from the latest round of Big Lottery’s Awards for All grants.

Awards were secured by Lesmahagow High School Parent Council who received a grant ?8,600 to enable the school’s sports teams to participate in a range of local, regional and national school competitions. While Lanark Exercise Group was awarded ?1,350 to help celebrate their 21st anniversary and attract new members.

Healthy Valleys and Forth and District Initiative were also successful gaining grants of ?1,240 and ?9,922 respectively to help fund website development and an extensive refurbishment of the community poly tunnel.

The awards focus on groups or projects which aim to make a big difference to their community with nearly 140 groups across Scotland sharing in the lottery funding worth over ?1 million.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell said:

"I am delighted that Clydesdale groups have benefitted again from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All grants.

"This is an early Christmas present for them and the money will help these groups make important improvements to their projects, widen access and help ensure their community continues to benefit from their excellent work.

"A number of local groups and projects have benefitted from Big Lottery grants and I continue to encourage everyone to check whether their community is eligible for funding."
