Clydesdale MSP, Aileen Campbell opened the semi-finals of the 2013 BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year at Coulter Hall.

The TRAD awards help celebrate the best of Scotland’s young musical talent and encourages the country’s young musicians to keep traditional Scottish music alive. Each year the winner is provided with opportunities to perform at some of the top gigs on the circuit and given help to launch a career in traditional music.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell said:

"Clydesdale has a proud heritage of traditional music and it was a privilege to be asked to open the semi-finals of the Young Traditional Musician of the Year award which was held in Coulter.

"The night showcased the best of Scotland’s traditional musical talent. The musicianship and performances of all the semi-finalists were really impressive.

the winning musicians the best of luck for the final and for putting on a fantastic evening."
