Clydesdale MSP, Aileen Campbell joined local residents at the Clyde Valley Fruit day at Overton Farm to celebrate Clydesdale’s orchards, fruit and local produce.

The fruit day was well attended by local residents and was treated to some lovely weather. Guests were given the opportunity to sample and see the different apple varieties found in Clydesdale’s historic orchards, taste freshly pressed apple juice courtesy of the Clyde Valley Orchard Group and enjoy many more delights from the area’s larder.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell said:

"The Clyde Valley orchards are an important part of Clydesdale’s landscape and history. It was fantastic to see so many people at the Fruit Day enjoying the event and sampling our wonderful produce.

"Clyde Valley Orchard Group undertake important work preserving and re-connecting the community with Clyde Valley’s orchards, and their fresh pressed Clydesdale apple juice was certainly a success!

"The Fruit Day is a great initiative and helps encourage children and adults to find out about what produce is on their doorstop and the many different ways it can be used."
