Clydesdale MSP, Aileen Campbell has added her support to Breast Cancer Awareness month and backed the ‘Wear it Pink’ day campaign.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this month Wear it Pink day hopes to see supporters from all over the country in schools, colleges and businesses embracing the event’s new superheroes theme.

The campaign is part of a wider programme including the Scottish Government’s ‘Detect Cancer Early’ initiative aimed at promoting the importance of women being breast aware and able to detect the signs and symptoms of breast cancer early.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell said:

"Every year the Scottish Parliament hosts a Breast Cancer reception and debated the importance of Breast Cancer Awareness month this week - I was pleased to be able to add my support to the campaign.

"Almost 4,500 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Scotland and these campaigns play a vital role in helping women to detect cancer early.

"I hope as many people as possible will be able to support Wear it Pink day on Friday 26th October and continue to help the fight against breast cancer."
