Clydesdale MSP, Aileen Campbell attended the launch of Clydesdale’s Dementia Alzheimer’s Group Support (D.A.G.S) lottery funded support programme at Lanark’s St Nicholas Parish Church Hall recently.

The event celebrated D.A.G.S recent award of ?9,950 Awards for All grant from the Big Lottery Fund to enable them to run a programme of activities and outings which will provide support and respite for local people who suffer from Dementia or Alzheimer’s and their carers.
Commenting, Aileen Campbell said:
"I was delighted to be able to attend the launch of D.A.G.S support programme which has been funded by the Big Lottery. The group, which is run by volunteers, do a fantastic job of offering support to those living with Dementia or Alzheimer and to family and friends who are the primary carer.
"Being a carer is a demanding and at times stressful role and it is important there is a strong support network out there for them. The lottery funding will help D.A.G.S to continue to provide support to people in Clydesdale living with the condition and giving carers the opportunity of some respite.
"The event was well attended and everyone enjoyed the raffle and lovely lunch that was provided. The efforts of the D.A.G.S volunteers should be applauded and I will assist their work in any way I can."
