Aileen Campbell joined the national campaign Sport Your Trainers (SYT) in parliament on Thursday 8 March to encourage people in Clydesdale to wear their trainers and ‘Step Up’ to a healthy challenge on Commonwealth Day (12 March) in support of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell said:

"I was pleased to add my name to the Sport Your Trainers campaign and show my support for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

"The campaign is encouraging people across Scotland to ditch their normal footwear on Commonwealth Day and don their trainers whether at home or work. It is also part of a wider campaign to get Scots to step up and adopt a healthy challenge whether it’s taking the stairs at work or trying a new sport.

"I hope to see lots of people in Clydesdale and across Scotland wearing their trainers on Monday in support of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, which I’m sure will be a great success and a fantastic advert for Scotland."
